Wheee!

Thank you so much to everyone who posted birthday wishes!!

[profile] shrubtree and I went to Dali, which is a Tapas place near where we live. We had all sorts of crazy stuff, including lamb, quail, and some sort of fried cheese, honey and onion concoction that was real nice. It was also two other dudes' birthdays at the same time. Thankfully [profile] shrubtree decided not to publicly embarrass me.
At work people kept giving me cupcakes all day (in addition to the virtual cupcake [profile] lady_angelina gave me). Score!
Anyway, I'm apparently 27 now. It feels pretty OK, I guess.
I'm also going to the Simpsons movie with some work friends on Friday!

Whee!
And now back to doing LJ support while eating irregular jelly beans.

That's actually a neat policy: The Birthday Grace Period. :D The perfect allowance for sending things in the mail, and as you said, it prolongs the fun! :D

Me, worry about spoilers? Not for the Simpsons, by any means. :D Groening puts in so many little Easter eggs in his work that it would still be very enjoyable for me even if I knew beforehand that Lenny and Carl got married to each other, or something. ;) So spoil away! :D

You're sooo right about the Easter Eggs. I feel like I missed so many subtle things that I'm sure I'm going to watch it again in the theater. There was a lot of unacknowledged weirdness - for instance there's a scene where the family (minus Bart) is watching TV, and Bart runs in from outside and says, "Did you see that?" referring to what they just watched.

It was everything I hoped for. I think they did a good job with having a semi-coherent plot that carried for the whole movie, rather than having a lot of vignettes. I really like how they used their PG-13 rating very sparingly, but to good effect (there's one scene of cartoon nudity).

Also, Ralph only has two lines but one of them is the funniest thing ever.

Hmm, maybe I should have put all this into an actual posting.
Meh.
