Keep your head and arms inside the Mixer at all times...

Went to Six Flags with [personal profile] idonotlikepeas today. It was hella awesome, once we figured out how to sit down on a bus. I know many of you have us both on your flists, so I will try not to repeat too much of the craziness from today.

You can't tell from this picture, but there are actually 7 flags on top of this thing:

(The last twenty feet are heavily soundproofed(haha, I said feet))

For some reason I have paradoxical ride phobia. I'm actually more scared by the gondola and bumper cars than I am of roller coasters and such. The gondola I think is because at least roller coasters have the whole "moving fast" thing to distract you from the fact that you're high up in the air, whereas the whole point of the gondola is for you to look around and see how far away the ground is (I wonder if it'll be friends with me). I'm scared of bumper cars because of the first time I rode on one. It was back when Six Flags was still Riverside. I think I was like 10 or 11? And I ended up getting stuck in the corner almost immediately ("you're doing it wrong!"). After a few minutes of ineffectual flailing at the steering wheel, there was a horrible noise and I was covered with a blinding shower of sparks from above. The entire ride stopped and everyone looked at me. I was fine. But yeah, no bumper cars.

Anyway, here is a picture I took from the gondola when I could manage to tear one of my hands away from white-knuckling the oh-shit bars.

Figured out how to sit down on a bus? Oh my... you must elaborate on that experience. I rely completely on public transit, so I could give you some good advice on how to cope with that. Such as, talking loudly to no one in particular is the best way to get a seat all to yourself. *evil grin*

I totally don't blame you about the bumper cars... they're eeeeeeevil. X_x And bad experiences with rides can easily sour you to them, too. Ever since I got stuck at the very top of a giant Ferris wheel that I learned afterwards was "off-balance," I've never ridden on one of those things ever again. ^^;;

Okay, so what's with all these statements implying that Six Flags rides can cause you to lose a limb or two (or several)? ;) Were there some recent incidents that happened at a Six Flags park that I didn't hear about? Or is it just more about the general hazard of these rides to one's health? XD

Still, I'm glad you and !peas had a great time today. :D

There were actually two chartered buses there. Unfortunately we had more people than bus seats until a few people got extra-cozy, so me, !peas and our dad were kind of running from bus to bus for a little while trying to figure out where to sit down. It was a little messy. But yes, I am all-too-familiar with public transportation. I've adopted the very-loud-deathmetal-coming-from-headphones approach. It usually creates a little extra personal space just for me.

They actually removed the Ferris Wheel from the amusement park we went to. Those things are kind of creepy.

More on the severation. But also because it's always kind of funny, I guess.

Yeah, it was pretty awesome. And now comes the sunburn.

I'd go into a rant about how it was originally Six Flags over Texas, but honestly I'm just too tired.

Yeah, I think the other minister guy at dad's church mentioned that during his sermon, right before he said there were really seven flags, and the seventh flag was love.
