Pursuant to this post, here are answers to two more iterations of Mr. Interview Meme.

[personal profile] placeboweek's questions:

1. What's been your favorite song created by you/any band you've been in so far? Why?
Hmm. That would probably be "Get By", which is a song I wrote when I was about 18 or 19 but has been kicking around for quite a long time. It's actually been through several incarnations across different bands, and had two different sets of lyrics, but the version I'm happiest with is the instrumental that I've posted on Virb.

2. Favorite place to eat?
The Sunset Grille in Allston. They have some ungodly number of beers on tap (like 112 or something?), and pretty good food besides (even though I always get the pulled pork sandwich). But also, Deep Ellum (coincidentally in Allston as well), which has a weekly-rotated dish based around some new and exotic sausage. And they have a pretty ridiculous drink selection as well.

3. Tell me more of these deer of which you speak.
There were totally ridiculous amounts of deer in Ohio. We saw them all the time (in addition to all the other various animals we saw there, cows, groundhogs, horses, cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes, including a St. Bernard who probably outweighs me). We even saw a couple fawns aside from the one I mentioned here, just hanging out by the side of the road. Crazy shit.

4. What's a good singer/band I should start listening to?
Well, I don't know too much about what you listen to now, but I recommend the Mountain Goats to pretty much everyone. The Mountain Goats are this one guy (John Darnielle) and often other people. I generally describe the genre as aggrofolk; it's all acoustic guitar and stuff but the delivery of the lyrics is very emphatic. His lyrics are super-literate, and often full of intentionally awkward metaphors that are both funny and evocative at the same time. If you're interested in checking it out there's tons of free MP3's scattered about the internets, or I can burn you some CDs (I owe [personal profile] idonotlikepeas and [personal profile] girlgonemad some CDs as well so I can burn em all at once).

5. Which would you rather deal with: any of the crazy people I've had to deal with in my office, or real moon men who steal muffins?
I'd definitely say real moon men. At least they're only after muffins, rather than money. They can have my muffins, I don't need muffins badly enough to fight moon men.

[profile] lady_angelina's questions:

1. How did you get started on LJ?
[personal profile] idonotlikepeas is responsible. He'd mentioned it to me a few times before, and even told me about doing Support and Abuse, and I was curious. I don't feel like I've been super-involved until I started doing Support a couples months ago.

2. What kind of personality does your cat have?
Luna is a really sweet cat. She's never intentionally bitten or scratched anyone that I'm aware of. She's kind of a scaredy-cat, and is especially afraid of people taking clothes off or putting them on for some reason - I guess the weird shapes and sudden movements and sounds freak her out. When she meows it sometimes sounds like Dr. Zoidberg from Futurama.

3. Does your brother's love of video games happen to run in the family? ;) If so, what's your favorite game?
Why yes! We actually co-owned our Nintendo and Super-Nintendo after buying them with money from first communions and confirmations. Right now I'm getting re-addicted to Starcraft; in terms of old-school games I've always been a huge fan of the entire Final Fantasy, Zelda and Mega Man series.

4. What trait do you find least tolerable in people?
Not paying attention - like people who don't listen, or who don't look where they're going. Pisses me off instantly and inordinately.

5. What was your earliest involvement with music, and how old were you at the time?
I think I first started listening to things other than what my brother or sister were listening to when I was about 14 or 15, when my friend [profile] doctorellisdee loaned me the album Paranoid by Black Sabbath. It changed my life, literally.
In terms of playing in a band, a bunch of my high school friends decided at 16 that we'd start a band, and all picked out instruments and stuff. I think we had about 4 guitarists and 3 drummers, and we had elaborate ideas about costumes and stage shows that never materialized (probably for the best. We were going to wear full-body cow suits with capes). Eventually some of us actually learned to play instruments, and our first show was just after I turned 17.

Wow, those were some good questions, guys. I'll have some questions for you when I'm less drunk, and when it's less 3:30 in the morning, and when I have to drive to Connecticut less in the morning.
