bovinism - a religion created by a couple of my high school friends, whose bandwagon I immediately jumped on. There are six or seven principle deities, depending on which branch of bovinism you ascribe to: Cow God #1, Cow God #2, Cow God #3, Cow God#4, Mr. Horse, Chicken God (and Extopalapaketl). I'm the High Priest of Cow God #4. It all just starts making less sense from there. Thankfully doctorellisdee collected a bunch of the writings here bovinebibles , so I don't have to try to explain it anymore.
davy rothbart - Davy Rothbart is the founder of Found Magazine. Found is a bunch of weird stuff that people find all sorts of crazy places, in magazine form.
sunno))) - this is a sludge doom band, whose sound can only be likened to what it must sound like when you're dragged into a black hole while your spaceship implodes. the o))) is a pictogram of a speaker emitting soundwaves. Sometimes people throw up at their shows from the extreme low frequency sound pressure levels.

the silver jews - this is a band. I don't know how to describe them. Indie folk I suppose? Anyway, they sound like a slightly more coherent Bob Dylan if he was produced by Wilco.
jeff bridges - Jeff Bridges played the Dude in the Big Lebowski. Nuff said. And he was in Tron.

cthulu -- I've never read any Lovecraft, but I have a fondness for cthulu. I think it's because he has an octopus for a head, and I love cephalopods.

cuteoverload -- http://www.cuteoverload.com is my source for cute. It's not just pictures/videos of cute animals, but the site owner, Meg, has a great sense of humor and makes funny captions for all the pictures. She also isn't afriad to put up pictures of cuttlefish or lizards or cute bugs.

cuttlefish -- this is the cutest invertebrate in all the world. It also changes colors, and is surprisingly clever.

ddr -- Dance Dance Revolution, baby! I love this game.

Ogden Nash -- He was a 20th century poet, very humorous and witty. Here's one of his poems:

A shrimp who sought his lady shrimp
Could catch no glimpse
Not even a glimp.
At times, translucence
Is rather a nuisance.

dooce -- http://www.dooce.com. Heather Armstrong keeps a blog, she's a wife and mom and a little crazy, but very funny. She gained some notoriety because she was fired for making fun of her boss in her blog.

volunteering -- I like to volunteer! I think everyone should. That's how stuff gets done.
